Attached is a copy of the Conference Proceedings of the international Conference on Canadian Military Law hosted by the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa on Friday, November 13, 2015. The conference was also sponsored by various commercial organizations, civil institutions and veterans community organizations. See: Conference Proceedings.
The conference heard from members of academia, legal practitioners and judges as well as serving military personnel debating how best to contemporize the Canadian military justice system to bring it more in line not only with traditional Canadian legal doctrine and principles but also in harmony with reforms enacted by a majority of our allies. The conference examined the present state of military law in Canada and identified the main issues that need to be addressed in the development of this unique domain of the law.
