Meanwhile, back in Armenia

The Armenian trial of Russian soldier Valery Permyakov has resumed after a lengthy adjournment, but it continues to make waves. Permyakov is accused of having murdered seven members of an Armenian family. The trial -- to the consternation of many -- is being conducted on a Russian military base in Armenia (Russia having previously convicted him of desertion and other offenses in a court-martial). Now the family of the victims is demanding that it be moved to the Armenia provincial court. Details here and here.
