A military court in the Democratic Republic of Congo has sentenced a civilian musician to 10 years in prison for
demoralizing the army and inciting the populace to rebel against the army.The African Charter has been interpreted to forbid any military trial of civilians. Human Rights jurisprudence in general strongly disfavors such trials.
