There's an interesting legal tug-o'-war going on in Nigeria. At issue is whether military personnel accused of terrorism must be tried first by the armed forces and only then turned over to civil authorities for prosecution under the Terrorism Prevention Act. Femi Falana, a leading attorney who has been involved in past military legal controversies, says that terrorism is not an offense under the Armed Forces Act. The High Court has ordered the military to turn the accuseds over to civil authorities. Details
