COVID-19 and military justice (Papua New Guinea)

There's been an unfortunate turn of events in Papua New Guinea. The members of the Defence Force are in military custody in connection with the death of a senior police officer, apparently related to the COVID-19 emergency liquor ban. The suspects face both civilian and military proceedings, according to this account. For a time there was a standoff between personnel of the two forces. The country's State of Emergency Orders can be found here.
