The African Union has issued a response to Human Rights Watch's report on discipline among AMISOM military and police contingents in Somalia. The response notes a variety of steps that have been taken, such as creation of a board of inquiry and a disciplinary board, and other measures that are under consideration, including in-country courts-martial and enhanced information-sharing between troop contributing countries and the AU Commission about prosecutions.
