L'Orient | Le Jour - en date du 11 avril 2016 reports on the recent condemnation by the Military Appeal Court of former Lebanese Minister
Michel Samaha to thirteen (13) years imprisonment (forced labour) for his several terrorist acts. In its detailed analysis, the newspaper is most critical of that sentence. It characterizes the sentence imposed by the military appeal court as being more or less a compromise taking into account both legal and political factors.
L'Orient opines that Samaha's several acts of terrorist and overall conduct should have drawn a much harsher sentence.
