Ex-Mayor Said Amirov |
The Military Court of the North Caucasus District has convicted
Said Amirov, former mayor of Makhachkala (the capital of Dagestan), of complicity in the murder of a senior investigator of the Russian Federation Investigative Committee (a law enforcement agency) and an attempt to shoot down an airplane carrying another Dagestani official.
Why should Amirov, a civilian, have been tried in a military court?
