The Paraguayan Senate has sent a communiqué to the president urging publication in the
Official Gazette of three 1980 laws relating to military justice. Details on the controversy can be found
here, in Spanish. If the laws were not properly published, persons who are confined under them would have to be freed. The military has argued that the laws are of limited application because they concern only active duty military personnel.
