The
Association of the Bar of the City of New York, which has long taken an active interest in military justice, has issued a
favorable report on S. 1752, Sen.
Kristen Gillibrand's Military Justice Improvement Act. "The MJIA would improve the perceived fairness of courts-martial and ensure justice and accountability, by placing authority to prosecute and make other key decisions for serious, non-military crimes, in the hands of military prosecutors rather than the chain of command." The report was prepared by the City Bar's Committees on Military Affairs and Justice and on Sex and the Law.
