Two related items this morning. First, the Pakistan Peoples Party has promised that revisiting the tenure of the country's military courts (with power to try civilians) will be one of the issues it will pursue. Second, and speaking of military courts, the Peshawar High Court has stayed the execution of 10 men who were sentenced to death by military courts. Counsel for the men argue that they were denied a fair trial and that the evidence needed to convict was not submitted.
The current (second) life-span of the military courts expires in 2019.
