The Supreme Court of Uganda has heard oral argument in a case challenging the trial of civilians by court-martial. The Constitutional Court invalidated the practice in part. A good report on the argument can be found
here. A decision is expected in a few days.
Uganda is one of the world's most persistent violators of the human rights principle that only military personnel should be tried by military courts.
