Annals of blogging: censorship

In April 2014, Global Military Justice Reform ran a post titled The Case of the Indelible Ink and the Leak. This evening the Editor received the following disturbing communication from Blogger:

This action is completely unwarranted. There was nothing objectionable in this eight-year-old post.

  1. It could very well be that there was a hyperlink in the post to an external site that is now corrupted. If that site has a virus, then they may shut down any others that link to it. I don't know if that is the case, but just a possibility.

  2. I hope that's the explanation, but I remain concerned. As I recall, the post had to do with the travails of a dissenting air force officer who blew the whistle on election funny-business in Malaysia. Perhaps the word "leak" is now forbidden because of its urinary meaning, Very strange in any event for the post to be disappeared after eight years.
