Growing crescendo of experienced voices condemn President's politicization of the military

Last week's events indicated that the President wanted to, as the founding fathers feared, tyrannically use the U.S. military against "we the people" to squash largely peaceful, constitutionally-protected protests in response to endemic institutionalized racism and police brutality. Such indications were the culmination of years of this Administration's exploitation of the US military as a political tool.  At least powerful folks are finally speaking out against such abusive & dangerous tendencies -- as they say, better late than never. While condemnation of the president by the former Secretary of Defense and retired four-star general, USMC General Jim Mattis, made the biggest splash, many other voices have joined him, as demonstrated here.
