A two-judge bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered the government not to release the 73 civilians whose military court convictions were recently overturned by the High Court of Peshawar.

Sajid Ilyas Bhatti appeared before the bench and stated that the cases which have been dealt under Army Act could not be considered through ordinary laws, adding that the PHC while deciding the matter overlooked certain principles."
