The Military Chamber of the Spanish Supreme Court has exonerated a traffic policeman in Mieres, Asturia, in the north of Spain, who had been punished for not processing some fines while he was on medical leave. The Regulations of the Traffic Police require policemen to process fines even when they are on medical leave. The policeman had been sanctioned with the loss of nine days of salary, but the Military Chamber of the Supreme Court found that medical leave exempts the policeman from all of his obligations and that the policeman in this case did not commit any offense. Details here, in Spanish.
