A 2014 decree expanding the jurisdiction of military courts to cover civilians in cases involving attacks on buildings and cutting off roads has been ratified by the Egyptian parliament. Details here. Parliament had been inactive for a prolonged period under President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
