Last Saturday, Canada’s national newspaper, the Globe and Mail, published a 3-page investigative exposé on a retired US army private (who served during period 1972-1976) who now presents himself as a four-star general since moving to Vancouver five years ago.[US 4-star general makes waves!]
Since moving to British Colombia, General Robert E. Lee Goodwin III has incorporated a number of businesses and, allegedly, has opened a college in New Westminster which only operates ‘online’. According to the Globe and Mail, General Goodwin has persuaded our Chief of the Defence Staff, General Jonathan Vance, to accept a distinguished fellowship in the New Westminster College. The Deputy Commander of NORAD, Lieutenant-General Alain Parent, Canadian Forces, has also accepted a distinguished fellowship.

In the early 2000s General Goodwin was
state-commissioned a major-general in the South Carolina Militia. In 2001 he
was made a three-star in the Alabama Defense Force. On July 8, 2004, he was appointed by the
Governor of the State of Missouri to the rank of four-star general in the
Marine Corps component of the Missouri Naval Militia.
