Test of judicial review in Pakistan

Dawn reports here that the High Court of Lahore has ordered the government to respond to a complaint about the conduct of a recent capital military trial:
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed the Interior Ministry to submit their reply on the trial and investigation of convict Sabir Shah who was earlier awarded the death sentence by a military court.

The two-member bench headed by Justice Abdul Sami issued a notice to the Interior Ministry to respond within 48 hours with details on how the trial and investigation were conducted by the military court.
The case could provide one of the first tests of the Supreme Court's determination in The Military Courts Case that decisions of military courts under the 21st Amendment are subject to judicial review.  Forty-eight hours seems a pretty short time for the government to generate a detailed submission.
