Lt Col James W. Weirick, USMC (Ret) |
Retired Marine Corps judge advocate
James W. Weirick has written
this op-ed about the startling outcome of a case in which a federal district judge imposed a ten dollar fine on a Marine who shot a Navy corpsman but was convicted only in civilian court and only of making a false official statement (that was soon recanted).
Did military justice fail the corpsman? If so, should someone have been held accountable?
