Human Rights Watch has requested the release of two civilians who have been detained for over eighteen and thirty-two months, respectively, while awaiting military trial. In January, Morocco published a law ending military trials for civilian defendants. However, Mbarek Daoudi, a Western Sahara activist, and Mamadou Traore, a Malian migrant, remain detained. Human Rights Watch has requested the release of two civilians who have been detained for over eighteen and thirty-two months, respectively, while awaiting military trial.
