Name suppression in N_w Z_____d

Name suppression been granted to a New Zealand noncom in a case in which he has entered mixed pleas. Sorry, but I don't understand why a defendant who has pleaded guilty to some, but not all, of the charges against him should have his name suppressed. This may be the practice in New Zealand, but it continues to baffle me. In the U.S. this would be unheard of in a court-martial and tolerated in civilian courts, if at all, only with a minor accused.
