Bersih 2.0, the Malaysian election watchdog group, has filed a complaint asking that the police get to the bottom of whether the president of the court-martial trying the indelible ink case of Major Zaidi Ahmad was the person who posted a disparaging Facebook comment about the accused. The Malaysian Insider has the story. Bersih 2.0's spokesman said:
"If the authorities are so efficient in charging people for online sedition, then they can certainly move as quickly where a person's constitutional right to a fair trial is at stake.
"We would like to think that the presiding officer would want his image to be free of any taint as well, which can only be done by an independent police investigation," said Bersih in a statement about its police report.
