Proceedings in the Supreme Court of Pakistan

The Business Recorder has run this lengthy account of Monday's proceedings in the Supreme Court of Pakistan in cases challenging death sentences imposed by the country's 21st Amendment military courts. Among the issues: Was one of the petitioners a minor at the time of the offense? Were the petitioners afforded counsel, and if so did they validly waive it? Were their guilty pleas valid? Was the trial conducted in a language the accused could understand?
