Threat to abolish military court in Lebanon

Michel Samaha
Following the military court conviction of former Lebanese government minister Michel Samaha, Justice Minister Achraf Rifi had this to say, according to L'Orient | Le Jour:
We will do our best to appeal this decision, emphasized Mr. Rifi. The case is unacceptable. This is not a court, this is a farce, and we will work to end the military court, taking the necessary measures. The majority of countries have abolished military tribunals. We have no reason to keep ours.
Editor's note: some countries have actually or in effect abolished their military courts, but it is doubtful that they represent a majority of current nation states.
