Military trials urged for perpetrators of Safoora Goth bus attack

The chief minister of Pakistan's Sindh province has directed that charges growing out of Wednesday's Safoora Goth bus attack on members of the Ismaili sect be referred for consideration for trial by military courts. One hundred fifty suspects have already been arrested in the case. Details here.

The constitutionality of the military courts authorized under the recently-enacted 21st Amendment to the Constitution is pending before the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
