Civilian to be tried by Venezuelan military court for assaulting a sentry

A civilian (and ex-mayor) will be tried by a Venezuelan military court on charges of assaulting a sentry, according to this story in El Universal of Caracas. The charge carries a potential sentence of 14-20 years. His lawyer complained that he had been denied prompt access to his client, a violation of due process.
