Global Seminar on Military Justice Reform

  1. Admiral John Byng on the HMS Monarch, shot on March 17, 1757 for 'failing to do his outmost' by deciding to not land forces, contrary to an order to attack French forces besieging British Fort St Philip on Minorca island during the Seven Years War.
